We are delighted to be able to announce that strikers Mark Rawle and Tesfaye Bramble are confirmed to be playing for the Southend United Legends side on Sunday 17th May.

The pair formed a formidable strike partnership for Southend United during the early 2000’s. Between them, the pair scored 60 goals in 261 appearances in all competitions for the South East Essex Club.

Mark Rawle, who was born on 27/04/1979, signed for the Club in February 2001 from Boston United for £60K. His pace, power and trickery saw him score 20 goals in 79 starts for Southend United with a further 10 appearances coming off the bench. He left Southend United for Oxford United in the summer of 2003, having turned down the offer of a new contract. Mark also played for Rushden & Diamonds, Boston United, Oxford United, Tamworth (Loan), Kidderminster Harriers, Woking, Gravesend & Northfleet (Loan), Alfreton Town, Kettering Town, Redditch United (Loan), Tamworth & Brackley Town.

Tes Bramble, who was born on 20/07/1980, joined Southend United on a free transfer in January 2001 from Cambridge City, and was with the Club for four years, leaving during the summer of 2005 after manager Steve Tilson decided against renewing his contract following promotion to League One. Tes scored 40 times in just 128 stars with a further 44 appearances coming off the bench. Tes famously played in goal for Southend United against Boston United following the sending off of goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan. Tes also played for Cambridge City, Cambridge United (Loan), Stockport County, Stevenage Borough, Leiston, Felixstowe & Walton United, Hadleigh United and Ipswich Wanderers.

We are delighted to have them on board, and look forward to seeing them in action on Sunday 17th May.
