We are delighted to be able to announce the fourteenth Legend to be confirmed for the Southend United Legends side on Sunday 17th May.

David Lee, who was born on 28/03/1980, joined Southend United on a free transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2000. David came through the ranks as a youngster at White Hart Lane, before moving to Southend United, who gave him his debut in the Football League. David’s spell down by the seaside lasted just one season as his form earnt him a move to Hull City when his contract expired with the Shrimpers. He left the Club in June 2001, joining Hull City. The central midfielder went on to make 47 starts in all competitions at Southend, with a further 5 appearances off the bench scoring an impressive 10 goals. David also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Hull City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bristol Rovers (Loan), Thurrock (Loan), Oldham Athletic, Stevenage Borough, Aldershot Town and Canvey Island.

We are delighted to have David on board, and we look forward to welcoming him on Sunday 17th May.
